The challenge

Before I stepped in, Casavogue — a 50-year-old family furniture retailer in Montreal — ran on handwritten paper invoices with no system at all.

My approach

I mapped how every team actually worked, then translated that into Odoo one module at a time, writing training and operation manuals as I went and improving the system from user feedback week over week. The hardest part was never the technology — it was change management: bringing staff who'd only ever used paper onto a new system. That first build was the start, not the end: I've kept extending the platform since, from warehouse scanning to a configurable furniture-bundle system.

What I built

  • Full ERP on Odoo.sh: Sales, Purchase, Inventory, WMS, Logistics, Accounting, POS
  • Custom-built Helpdesk for delivery issues, damage/warranty claims and customer service, plus public event-registration pages linked to Odoo events
  • Shopify storefront synced to Odoo end-to-end, built and maintained by me
  • Vendor catalogue pipeline: 72 vendors worldwide, dedicated import script per vendor
  • Led the version migration from Odoo 16 to Odoo 17, then Odoo 17 to Odoo 18, preserving custom reports and Studio fields across each move
  • Advanced product search across the furniture catalogue — multi-word matching, supplier/brand/SKU lookup, ranked relevance (staging-tested)
  • Guided multi-level catalog structure with CSV imports and automatic barcode/reference assignment
  • Barcode-driven warehouse workflows: scanning, reservation tracing, partial transfers and driver load manifests
  • Corrected incoming-stock and reservation calculations so purchasing and sales see accurate available-to-promise inventory
  • Sales-order tools: a drawing editor, an automatic PDF backup queue, and reservation-aware protection for confirmed orders
  • Customer portal e-signature flow, Moneris compatibility updates, and a Clover hosted-checkout integration (sandbox-verified, not yet live)
  • Management reporting: sales performance, year-over-year trends, advisor scorecards, and inventory valuation/aging/liquidation views
  • Cross-company purchase-order sync with sister company Maison Territo, built and reconciled (production rollout pending)
  • A configurable furniture-bundle platform spanning sales configuration, inventory allocation, purchasing and returns (staging-verified, production rollout pending)
  • Ported the company's MCP/AI integration to Odoo 17 and completed a feasibility assessment for an AI after-sales assistant (research stage, not deployed)

Results and delivery status

  • 3+ years live, 0 critical production failures
  • ~5,000 stocked products
  • 2M+ vendor price-list lines managed in Odoo
  • Paper invoices → moving toward fully paperless
  • 16 documented workstreams spanning live operations, staging and research; search and the configurable bundle platform are staging-verified, with production rollout pending
  • Every release backed by regression testing, staged rollouts and rollback procedures
