Your recording choice

The portfolio chat answers questions in your browser. Optional recording helps me understand which information is useful and improve answers. The chat and full profile work without recording.

What allowance means

Only after you allow recording and the connection is confirmed, I can save new submitted questions, the replies committed to the conversation, supporting card content, named clicks and estimates of visible and active time. Earlier messages and drafts are not uploaded. A recorded visit uses a random identifier; this does not make messages anonymous if you include personal information.

Recording applies to the current visit, ending after 30 minutes without meaningful activity or at most 24 hours after allowance. A later visit requires allowance again. There is no recording on the owner dashboard or this Privacy page.

Control and deletion

Stop recording stops new capture and discards unsent activity. Already saved records remain. Delete this recorded visit also removes its saved history once the server confirms. If the connection fails, the control shows a pending request that you can retry. Start over clears the visible chat; it does not delete server records.

Records expire from the private dashboard 30 days after allowance. A daily cleanup removes expired records. Physical removal can take until the next successful cleanup, usually the following day, and may be delayed by an outage or exhausted free-service quota. I do not create transcript backups or exports. Clearing browser cookies or starting another recorded visit can remove your self-service access to an earlier visit; its expiry still applies.

Storage and access

The website and its collection endpoint run on Vercel. Optional history is stored in Google Firebase Firestore and is available only through an authenticated owner view. Recording does not send your questions to an AI model. Please do not submit confidential or sensitive information.

This feature does not save keystrokes, mouse paths, exact location or raw IP addresses in visitor history. A short-lived transformed connection address may be used for abuse limits, separately from history. Hosting and authentication providers may keep their own operational logs, including requests made to the site. Questions included in an incoming link can reach hosting logs before the page removes them from its address bar.

Browser preferences

Your recent completed conversation, selected topic and reading position are kept in this tab’s session storage so you can return after browsing the profile or refreshing. This local history is separate from optional server recording and is not uploaded when restored. “Start over” clears the local conversation; it does not clear a separate project brief or delete recorded server history. Browser session-restore features may retain tab storage when reopening a session.

The project enquiry guide keeps your answers in this tab’s session storage so you can return to your draft. Use “Clear project draft” to remove it. Clicking “Send brief” sends your brief and reply email to me through Resend for email delivery. The site does not store them or include them in recorded chat messages. A successful email delivery clears the local draft. A short-lived transformed connection address limits enquiry attempts in each server instance; this is not a shared limit across all serverless instances. Opening the email link passes the brief to your email app, where you can review and send it yourself.

Your browser remembers graph display settings (hidden or paused motion) and recording preference. A declined choice lasts 30 days. During a recorded visit, a protected cookie lets this browser send activity or stop/delete the current visit; it cannot read saved transcripts. Unsent history stays in bounded page memory and can be lost if the page closes.
